Day 1.
Bucharest - Sinaia - Brasov - Bran (Dracula) Castle - Snagov - Bucharest
The tour starts in Bucharest but any other modifications can be done upon request.
In the morning, 8 o’clock, you’ll meet your guide in the hotel’s lobby.
You’ll leave straight toward Sinaia where you’ll visit The Peles Castle, the most beautiful castle in Romania, residence of the former royal family. The Sinaia Monastery was the first building of this town and is not far away from the castle.
Driving on the beautiful Prahova Valley, you will have an astonishing view over the Bucegi Mountains, especially over the craggy Caraiman Massive with its Heroes’ Cross built in the memory of the soldiers who died in the First World War.
Further on, you’ll cross into the famous and mysterious Transylvania to visit Brasov, a city founded by the Saxons, who colonized Transylvania in the 12-13th centuries. Here you’ll visit the old center, where you’ll admire the beautiful buildings such as the astonishing The Black Church which was built in Gothic and Renaissance style. You’ll enjoy a walking tour of the old medieval citadel and you’ll admire its walls protected by towers, the old square and the narrowest street in Romania, Rope Street.
Then you’ll be driven toward The Bran Castle built 700 years ago and famous because of the Dracula legend. Built on a calcareous rock, the castle, surrounded by a small village museum, attracts thousands of visitors each year.
After Brasov you’ll take the road back toward Bucharest. On the way you are going to be taken to visit The Monastery of Snagov. Surrounded by a lake and hidden in a forest, this place reminds of the famous Wallachian prince, Vlad the Impaler, also known as Dracula. Many of the Romanian historians say he is buried right in the nave of the church.
