Built somewhere before of the 14th century when it was for the first time documentary certified, located less than 20 miles from Brasov in a beautiful mountain area, famous because of the Dracula legend, Bran Castle, given back in 2006 to the descendents of the Romanian royal family, was declared by the Forbes magazine as second most expensive world properties.
Bran Castle, visited each year by almost 500,000 tourists, is placed in this top after a property located in Beverly Hills with a value of US$165 million. The value of the castle would be US$140 million, according to Forbes. On the other hand, Romanian Culture Ministry estimated the value of the same castle at only US$25 million. In 2006 the new owners tried to sell the castle but they didn’t find a buyer.
