Paltinis resort
Paltinis (Hohe Rinne) is a tourist resort built by Siebenburgischer Karpatenverein in 1894, being the first resort in Romania. Situated on the Northwestern slope of the Cindrel Mountains (Southern Carpathians), 33km Southwest of Sibiu, the Paltinis resort is the highest in Romania (1440m in altitude).
Marked trails are leading toward Cibinului Gorge (5km), Batrana Peak (1911m) or Cindrel Peak (2244m). During the winter, the ski slopes wait to be discovered, two of them having nocturnes. Having hotels, villas, cable transport for skiers, the resort it is an important attraction for the mountain lovers both in the winter and summer.
